The application was brought yesterday by the head of the commission's legal team.

Thousands of emails said to be correspondence between members of the Gupta family and their associates were leaked to the media last year.

Earlier evidence leader, Kate Hofmeyr, motivated that the hard drive they are on should be considered as it was owned by SAHARA computers - a company which belonged to the Gupta family.

"It is data that comes from a hard drive from Sahara Computers. It is one of the companies that the four major banking institutions of this country severed ties with at the beginning of 2016. It is also the company that in the evidence of Miss Mentor she was taken to in advance of the meeting with the former president at the Saxonwold residence of the Guptas," Hofmeyr said.
