Guards injured in KwaMashu cash-in-transit

Two security guards have been injured in a
cash-in-transit heist near KwaMashu.

Emergency first responders were called to the N2 south, after reports of a shooting and explosion, on Friday afternoon.
Ensure Security personnel say it appears that explosives were used to blow up the armoured vehicle.

While the exact number of robbers is unclear, it is believed that a gang of up to 12 members ambushed the vehicle and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Medics treated the two guards for minor injuries.
