Gordhan to restructure Eskom board amid load shedding crisis
Updated | By Newswatch
Eskom's board is being reconstituted as South Africa suffers through some of the worst load shedding to date.
The Public Enterprises Ministry says Minister Pravin Gordhan has been consulting with the board amid the various challenges faced by the power utility.
There's been more pressure to make changes following the latest round of intense load shedding.
The department says the terms of some of the members ended last year and had been extended subject to a review.
It says it will make an announcement on a new board soon.

"On Tuesday, the minister informed the board that a review has been finalised and that the board will soon be reconstituted and restructured. The Board members will be informed of the outcome of the process.
"Minister Gordhan thanked the current board for their service during the most challenging period of the entity," the department said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe gave in an indication of how soon that would be.
"The changed board will be announced in a few days. We will wait for that announcement."
