Gift of the Givers to send more rescuers to Mozambique, Zimbabwe
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
Pietermaritzburg-based NGO, the Gift of the Givers is busy finalising plans to get more rescuers to the disaster zones in Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

Cyclone Idai tore through the southern Africa region last week, leaving a trail of devastation behind it.
Founder Imtiaz Sooliman says water and helicopter rescue are the most crucial right now.
"The first team arrived on Monday night. On Tuesday afternoon the second team arrived by road. Between the two groups they realised that water rescue and helicopter rescue is the most crucial right now."
"Beira is flooded. Just outside of the city there are thousands of people who need to be saved," said Sooliman.
Sooliman says rescuers in Mozambique who had become stuck en route to Beira will be airlifted in today.
"We will get feedback from the hospital and see what is need to help."
Arrangements are also being made to get rescuers to Zimbabwe, which has also been hit hard, as soon as possible.
Hundreds have died and thousands more have been displaced.
