Gift of the Givers to build 80 homes for families affected by #KZNFloods

The Gift of the Givers says it is going to build 80 new houses for the families whose homes were demolished in the recent storm.

The Pietermaritzburg-based group says residents from Durban's BottleBrush Informal Settlement are pleading for a new place to live.

The team met with the flood-hit community this week to deliver food and blankets.The group's Imtiaz Sooliman says many people were thankful for the donations, but said they had no home to go to.

He says they have been speaking to the council to find out where they can start building."Once council gets back to us, we have committed to building 80 houses at a cost of R25,000 each. We have already set the money aside and we have spoken to suppliers," said Sooliman.
