Gender violence: Dozens make their way through CBD
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Marchers have now converged on Durban's Gugu Dlamini Park after making their way through the Durban CBD.

The mass action - against child and women abuse - was organised by the Premier's office and eThekwini Municipality and saw hundreds march along Samora Machel and Pixley ka Seme streets.
The march takes place under the theme, 'real men don't rape'. Among those in attendance are provincial government personnel, various religious leaders and people from various corners of society.
The province has seen a growing number of cases where women and children have suffered at the hands of abusers.

After being addressed by local leaders at the end of the march, a torch was lit symbolising the ongoing fight against gender-based violence in South Africa.
Premier Willies Mchunu who could not make it to the event was represented by MEC Sihle Zikalala.
All roads in the city centre that have been affected by the march are now clear.
