Gang rivalries behind Wentworth gun violence: CPF

The chairperson of the Wentworth Community Policing
Forum says the shootings in the area over the last few weeks have been
retaliations between rival gangs.

In the latest incident, a man was wounded in a suspected drive-by shooting on Tifflin Road last night.

A case of attempted murder has been opened.

Donovan Anderson says another man was shot dead on Friday.

Anderson says the CPF and police are working on a way to stop the violence.
“The people must just be strong at the moment. Don’t be fearful. Hopefully by working together we can resolve this issue,” he said.
Anderson said the violence is only playing out in a small area within the community.
