GALLERY: Disaster teams respond to Ndwedwe thunderstorms

Teams have been dispatched to provide relief in the Ndwedwe Municipality, where thunderstorms wreaked havoc on Sunday night.
Heavy rains coupled with strong winds uprooted trees - and damaged the roofs of a number of houses in three wards.
KZN Cooperative Governance Department spokesperson, Senzelwe Mzila says the extent of damage is still being assessed.

"What we can confirm is that there was an incident last night, where a severe thunderstorm damaged several houses and also damaged public infrastructure such as roads."
"Cogta MEC Sipho Hlomuka dispatched teams to the area to start to commence with the process of assessing the sate of damage and to begin interim relief measures. So far there have been no fatalities reported," he says.
