Fuel prices to drop in May

The Energy Department has announced that South African fuel users are in for some reprieve.

The department issued a statement on Saturday stating that a drop in crude oil prices is the main reason for the decrease. 


The rand/ US dollar exchange rate also contributed.


Petrol will decrease by 9 cents per litre, while the price of diesel will drop by at least 31 cents.

Paraffin will be 23 cents per litre cheaper.


LP Gas will decrease by R1.72 per kilogram.


The prices are effective from Tuesday midnight.
