Fuel hike on the cards for the new year
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Motorists can expect hefty fuel price hikes in the New Year.

That's according to the Automobile Association, which has been commenting on unaudited mid-month fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund.
The Association's Layton Beard says the basic fuel price shot up this month, and this could, in turn, lead to substantial increases across the board.

Beard says diesel and illuminating paraffin could be the worst hit.
The current data projects a jump of 52 cents a litre for these fuel types.
He says petrol could go up by 34 cents a litre.
