Four suspects shot dead, one nabbed in Soweto cash-in-transit heist

Four suspected cash-in-transit robbers were shot dead by police during a heist in Soweto.

A gun battle ensued after more than eleven men attacked a cash-in-transit vehicle along Nasrec Road in Soweto on Friday.
“Suspects allegedly robbed the security guards of their cell phones and one firearm before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money,” says national police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda.

Four suspects were shot dead while another has been arrested.
A police officer sustained gunshot wounds during the shootout.
Police have launched a massive manhunt for their accomplices and loot.
