Four sentenced to life for Ulundi cop murder

Four convicted
killers have begun serving life sentences for the murder of an Ulundi
detective.

Ntokozo Mbatha, Siphamandla Mbatha, Mzokhona Dlamini and Sifiso Mnyandu were found guilty by the Mtubatuba High Court this week for their involvement in a supermarket robbery three years ago.

Captain Nkosenye Ntombela was killed, while an employee was wounded.
Hawks KwaZulu-Natal spokesperson, Simphiwe Mhlongo says Ntombelo had been in the shop when the group wanted to carry out the robbery.
“They shot and wounded Ntombela and wounded a lady who has been working at the shop. They then fled the scene,” said Mhlongo.

He says the suspects were arrested a few days later by the Richards Bay Hawks members from Organised Crime.
