Four people still missing amid Eastern Cape floods

The Eastern Cape's Cooperative Governance MEC says police divers and rescue personnel are continuing the search for four people who are still missing following the floods in six districts.

At least ten people have been confirmed dead.
On Saturday, the body of a woman who was swept away in the Komani River was recovered.
More than 145 people were moved to safety from flood-hit informal settlements in the town.

Cooperative Governance MEC Zolile Williams says the flood damage in the province is going to run into billions of rands.
"The preliminary figure for roads and bridges affected is estimated at R4.5 billion and this doesn't include all other infrastructure, especially water and sanitation infrastructure that was also damaged.
"The estimated costs for human settlements stands at R420 million for all the affected houses."
