Exempt flood-hit Newcastle from load shedding - ActionSA
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
ActionSA is calling on Eskom to exempt flood-hit Newcastle from load shedding.

Heavy rainfall caused flooding in the Amajuba District last week, submerging homes, businesses and roads.
Residents and the municipality have been picking up the pieces, and ActionSA's Zwakele Mncwango believes a break from the rolling blackouts will help.
"It would really assist the municipality to deal with the issue of the load."

"You would remember that for example even the sewer pump station needs electricity, so if there is already infrastructure have this challenge of water, you need more electricity to pump out the water so that people could get back to normality."
Amajuba was one of four northern KwaZulu-Natal districts that were battered by torrential rains.
Local government authorities say six deaths have been confirmed as a result.
