Four in court for Ladysmith officer's murder

Four men are lining up in court today in connection with the murder of a Ladysmith police officer. He was stabbed at the weekend, outside a tavern.

Alfred Philani Dlamini was 41-years-old.

Police say the sergeant was attacked outside a liquor outlet in the Steadville area in the early hours of Saturday morning.
According to reports from the scene, Dlamini had just stepped out of his vehicle when he was approached by a man who stabbed him in the neck.
He died soon after he was rushed to hospital.

Dlamini had been with the SAPS for 13 years.
It took investigators less than 48-hours to track down and arrest four suspects in their late 20s.
