Former KZN Transport employee out on bail for fraud, corruption
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
A former area manager for the KZN Transport Department is out on bail following claims that he defrauded the department of over R900,000.
It's alleged that 59-year-old Johannes Reynders received an additional gratification of R113 000 from various service providers.
"It's alleged that during 2007 and 2013 in February he certified some timesheets as he was executing his duties."

"As a result of those certifications, fraudulent claims were made and they were paid by the department. There are also allegations that he received gratification from those service providers," says KZN Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo.
Mhlongo says Reynders was released on R2000 bail in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Thursday following allegations of fraud and corruption.
