Members of the Durban SAPS and Metro Search and Rescue unit were called out to the station after the foetus was spotted in the sewage augers in an underground bunker on Tuesday.
Life response's Leon Fourie says: "Upon arrival, we found that a male foetus was mixed up with a lot of debris. A specialised breathing apparatus had to be used by the rescuers to retrieve the foetus.
"Once the foetus was brought up - the foetus was deceased, approximately 28 weeks of age."
