Airports Company SA King Shaka International spokesperson, Colin Naidoo says three flights at the airport have been cancelled so far.

"Our airport is open as per normal, and we are running operations as per normal. There are no major impact disruptions as yet, but that could change."

"I would suggest to passengers that they contact their airlines immediately, to check on the status on their flight. What needs to happen is, the airlines and the CAA needs to resolve the matter to ensure that the aircrafts are compliance,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mango Airlines’ wings were also clipped by SACAA regarding it’s findings of an audit conducted at SAA Technical.

“As safety is our primary concern, we immediately began working with SAA Technical throughout the night to rectify these findings and are confident that we will have aircraft that are safe and ready for service during the course of today. However, as the process is not yet concluded, this does mean that some delays will be experienced throughout the day.”

“Mango Airlines has activated contingency plans in order to minimise disruption during the course of today and ensure our Guests reach their destinations safely,” it said in a statement.
