The pair and former police officers, Navin Madhoe and Ashwin Narainpershad are accused of fraud and corruption linked to a 2010 World Cup multi-million rand accommodation contract.

The case was back in the Durban High Court today.

Panday, Ngobeni, Madhoe and Narainpershad weren't in court due to COVID-19 protocols, but their lawyers were present.

Advocate Jimmy Howse who represents Panday, said he would also be representing the five other accused.

In the indictment before the court, they've been identified as Panday's relatives.

They have yet to be charged.

The State's Dorian Paver told the court the five would appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court soon for bail.

The matters would then be joined and all nine accused would appear together in the High Court in May for pre-trial proceedings.

It's understood some newly accused plan to challenge the charges in the Magistrates Court.
