One person has survived a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of five men in Inanda, north of Durban.

KwaZulu-Natal police are probing Wednesday night's murders, which took place in an RDP home at the Thambo Place area of Amaoti.
Police spokesperson Jay Naicker says the victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
He says they cannot rule out the possibility that this was a drug-related hit.

"It was established that all five deceased, who are in their twenties, were in the house when they were shot by unknown suspects who arrived in a getaway vehicle. A sixth victim, who was shot in the hand, was taken to hospital for medical attention.
"From information gathered at the scene of the shooting incident, we cannot rule out the possibility that the motive is drug-related.
"The crime scene was processed by detectives from the Provincial Task Team who investigate multiple murders. Investigations are continuing."
