Five killed, 56 injured in Limpopo bus crash

Five people were killed and 56 others injured in a crash involving a bus on the N1 outside Louis Trichardt in Limpopo.

Authorities suspect the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle before it overturned.
Thursday’s incident is the third deadly crash in the province in less than two weeks.

Provincial Transport and Community Safety MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya says several of the passengers were trapped in the bus and had to be rescued.
“It is concerning that in less than ten days, we had three major accidents with 17 fatalities. I want to urge motorists, especially public transport operators to drive with caution and reduce speed.”
