Fire rips through Reservoir Hills informal settlement

A fire has engulfed homes at the uMkhudwini informal settlement near Reservoir Hills in Durban.
It had ripped through several dwellings.
Divisional Commander at eThekwini Fire, Jesse Yasudas says no injuries have been reported at this point and the extent of the damage is still not known.
He says firefighters are working on containing the flames.

"Its the section of ground between the M19 and Reservoir Hills, it's on that embankment. There are multiple shacks that are alight. We've got fire trucks from Pinetown, Westville, and central Durban working on it," said Yasudas.

"The fire is under control and we are just getting more staff in to assist with distinguishing more flames."
