SA Communist Party not consulted over Zandile Gumede's deployment

The SA Communist Party says as a tripartite alliance member - it wasn't consulted before Zandile Gumede's deployment to the KZN Legislature.

The former eThekwini' mayor, and several others have been charged with fraud and corruption in connection with a Durban Solid Waste tender.
Despite this - she was sworn in yesterday as a KZN MPL - replacing Ricardo Mthembu, who'd succumbed to COVID-19.
The SACP's Sifiso Gwala says the ANC has contradicted itself on its utterances about corruption.

"In KwaZulu-Natal, there is what we call, the provincial deployment committee, where all alliance partners are a party of six.
He says the ANC, SACP and COSATU would sit there and deal with issues of deployment, current deployment and recall.
"But in this case, we only heard in the media that there was a swearing-in of comrade of Zandile," said Gwala.
"We do not necessarily need to actually agree with everything that is proposed but communication is key."
