Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
AfriForum believes the decline in farm murders in 2022 was to due to underreporting.
The lobby group yesterday released its annual farm murder report. It shows a drop in incidents in the past two years.
There were 415 reported attacks and 55 murders in 2021.
These figures went down to 333 and 50 respectively last year.

The organisation says arrests in some murder cases were recorded in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the Eastern Cape.
The lobby group’s spokesperson for community safety Jacques Broodryk says it's not clear whether the number of attacks actually decreased.
"The reason for the decline is we can only speculate that it could be due to the dark figures, underreporting for to police and it could be also underreporting in the media or it could be the farming the community is upping their game in terms of security awareness or security measures."
