The 41-year-old man, who'd been wanted for 13 years, was finally nabbed in KwaMbonambi on Friday.

Bhekithemba Nxumalo currently faces ten counts of rape.

It's alleged his reign of terror lasted between 2010 and 2018.

Jess Foord Foundation founder, Jess Foord, says it's a relief to know he is behind bars after such a long run of criminality.

"I think for the survivors it's just so awesome to see that finally things are being done and these perpetrators are being locked away and that for us speaking out is going to make a difference and it's not going to go unnoticed.

"This is definitely a step in the right direction and by making rape and gender-based violence a priority in this country and equipping the law enforcement with suck skills it will make such a difference. So going forward, I really feel that we are turning a corner and that there is go be change."

Nxumalo appeared in the KwaMbonambi Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

He is due back in court on Thursday.
