Family of slain cop still in shock
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The family of the officer who was shot and killed while on duty in uMlazi is still reeling in shock, this as fellow police officers visited the family yesterday.
Warrant Officer Jabulani Didi was patrolling in U-section when he was shot while trying to apprehend a suspect who shot and killed security guard Zimele Nzama at the local clinic.
An ongoing unprotected strike by support staff at various clinics and Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital in the township, of which security guards are part, is currently underway.

Nzama was one of many security guards temporarily placed to ensure that strikers don't damage state property.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says no arrests have been made at this stage.
''We are appealing to the members of the community to come forward with the information that might lead to the arrest of the suspect who allegedly killed the police officer yesterday as well as the security guard,'' he said.
