Family recount moments before fatal Hillcrest fire
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The aunt of two little girls and two boys who died in a house fire in Hillcrest, has recounted the harrowing moment, her sister returned home, to find her children trapped inside.
Thule Thwala says by the time help arrived, it was already too late.
"Everyone was outside - she was crying. But there was nothing to save - everything was [engulfed in flames]," Thwala said.
It's alleged the children had been locked in the bedroom before their mother went out, returning before 8 o' clock.
"She only came afterwards. We only heard her crying."
