The family learnt this week that the boy was murdered, bringing their two-month-long search to a tragic end.

KwaZulu-Natal police used DNA to identify a body found in a ravine in Longbury Drive in Phoenix north of Durban as his.

Detectives informed the family of the match on Wednesday.

Miguel's aunt, Sheryl Louw says they are angry.

"From what I have seen, everyone is very bitter because of the grief and pain. Justice has to be served," she said.

Meanwhile, Rippon Primary School will hold a memorial for Miguel today.

Teacher Kelly Duloo says the boy's classmates also need assistance.

Miguel went missing on the 17th of July. He was allegedly kidnapped after leaving school.

A man seen in CCTV footage with him was arrested several days later, but Miguel was never found.

43-year-old Mohammed Ebrahim has since made several appearances in court on human trafficking related charges. He was eventually granted bail, but has been unable to make the payment and remains in custody.

Miguel will be laid to rest this weekend.
