Detectives searching for missing Miguel Louw say their investigation has taken them to Port Shepstone on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast.
Police say they received information that the Sydenham pupil may have been spotted there.
10-year-old Miguel was allegedly dragged into a taxi by a man known to him outside Rippon Primary School more than a month ago.
The man, allegedly seen on CCTV footage taking the child, has been arrested and charged.

Multiple tip-offs have sent the family searching from the Durban CBD to the north coast.
The police's Thulani Zwane says the latest information they have is that Miguel might have been seen at a taxi rank in Port Shepstone.
"We can confirm that we did receive some rumours saying that the boy that was reported missing in Sydenham, Miguel Louw was somewhere in Port Shepstone at one of the ranks. Our police officers went there and spoke to the trolley pushers and people who are in the vicinity. They did not find anything. So the boy is still missing," Zwane said.
