The Education MEC has met the principals of four schools in Msinga near Ladysmith - where some matric pupils haven't been able to sit for their final exams, due to faction feuds in the area.

Speaking at the KwaZenzele High School, Mthandeni Dlungwane said two of seven learners affected have been taking into hiding by their parents.

He says the seven boys are from feuding families - with tensions having been heightened by recent killings.
"We have been told that this is historical because of some issues that happened a few years - or a year ago. But recently on a Saturday, two people were actually killed, that were somewhere in Ladysmith. And one happens to be one teacher who was teaching in one school somewhere where we are going to go," he said.
