A double murder convict in Durban has been handed two life terms for killing his ex-girlfriend's partner and the man's friend.
The Durban Regional Court heard that Andile Biyela was denied entry when he went to Mthandeni Mpofana's home in Quarry Heights in 2021.
The 23-year-old returned with a gunman, who shot Mpofana and his friend Mxolisi Gida.

KZN spokesperson for the NPA Natasha Kara says Biyela's ex-girlfriend, Luyanda Ntuli, managed to push the gun away.
The men were arrested the next day.
"Biyela had been in a relationship with the complainant in the attempted murder charge however, they had broken up prior to the shootings," says Kara.
Biyela was sentenced to life imprisonment for each murder and 15 years imprisonment for attempted murder. The court deemed him unfit to possess a firearm."
