‘Every attempt’ made to restore Mosely Park water supply
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
A
local ward councillor says every attempt has been made to restore the water
supply of residents in Mosley Park near Pinetown.

Residents’ taps ran dry on Monday.
Ward 63 councillor Chris van den Berg says the biggest issue is the drop in water levels at Northdene Reservoir which has affected the supply to other reservoirs.
"Then affecting the ability to get water up through to fill the reservoirs which fed Queensburgh and Mosley Park. The higher-lying areas are fed by one because the levels of the other reservoirs are struggling. The municipality has been struggling to get the levels up in that reservoir."

He says the Department of Water has been checking the pipelines.
In the meantime, tankers have been dispatched to the affected areas.
"The higher-lying areas haven't had water for four to five days. The department is trying to jump water from Pinetown areas through to Mosely which will maybe help a few houses."
Resident Louise Burgess says it’s not easy to stay hydrated and clean.
"I've been buying water and I got a swimming pool but some people don't. My husband put a pump on and I shower with that water, but this is unhygienic. People need water, we pay for our service and we need that service."
