eThekwini's coronavirus cases continue to soar

COVID-19 cases in the eThekwini district continue to rise.

There are over 46 000 infections in the province's epicentre.
eThekwini Mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda says it's vital that people strictly adhere to lockdown regulations as the spread of the virus approaches its peak.
Kaunda embarked on an awareness campaign's over the weekend, visiting busy public spaces like taxi and bus ranks.
"Let us continue to stay at home and only go out when it is necessary to get medical assistance, food or going to work.
"Wear your mask, wash your hands with soap or hand sanitizers and maintain social distancing.
"Those who are attending funerals please ensure that you adhere to the safety protocols by keeping the number of mourners below 50 including family members."

Kaunda says those who don't follow regulation must be exposed.
"Weddings and parties are still not permitted. Let us save lives by reporting those who are flouting the lockdown regulations to law enforcement agencies. Working together, we can defeat COVID-19."
