eThekwini Water Dept staff returns to work

Workers from eThekwini's Water and Sanitation Department have agreed to return to work - while wage negotiations continue.
Employees have been protesting this week.
They say they're not being paid according to the duties they perform.
Others also say they're expected to carry out duties which are not part of their job descriptions - without any remuneration.

The municipality's Mandla Nsele says management and labour unions will work to reach a deal as soon as possible.
"The management is engaging with the trade unions to find a solution and a way forward to this matter. We are confident that an agreement will be reached soon. Services are continuing as normal at the moment," he said.
