eThekwini warns of 'meter readers' posing at municipal staff
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The eThekwini Municipality says the next time someone comes knocking on your door claiming to be carrying out meter checks on behalf of the municipality, you need to be careful.

"We urge residents to refrain from letting anyone into their property without proper identification. If the individual does not produce a legitimate identity card, they should not be allowed to access the property," says the city's Lindiwe Khuzwayo.

Khuzwayo says they have received reports of intruders posing as municipal workers, who've been doing meter readings recently.
She says in one incident a bogus meter reader ran away leaving behind a clipboard.
