eThekwini ward chair, Thulani Nxumalo to be laid to rest
Friends and family of slain ANC councillor, Thulani Nxumalo will lay his body to rest today.
He was attacked by gunmen who had been waiting in the bushes surrounding his property.
The suspects fired several shots at his car when he had returned home from a Branch Executive Committee meeting.
The ANC's Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu says Nxumalo was a respectable member of the ANC in KZN.
"In essence, Comrade Nxumalo spent a lot of his time and energy working for the ANC. He was also a community volunteer. You see that he was a member of the CPF within the area. The ANC encourages their members to be involved in community development. He will be sorely missed within the ANC ranks," Simelane-Zulu said.
The party says it will announce details for Nxumalo's memorial service in the days to come.
