The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has confirmed the death of eThekwini's Ward 12 Chairperson, Thulani Nxumalo.

He was shot dead outside his home in KwaNdengezi, west of Durban, last night.
It's understood he'd been returning from a branch meeting when he was attacked.
The ANC's provincial spokesperson Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu says they're calling on the police minister to urgently deal with the issue of political killings.

"It is now becoming a worrying trend in the province of KwaZulu-Natal that those people who are public figures are gunned down in a manner that is never understood. This creates an impression that some of them are political killings so we are quite worried," Simelane-Zulu said.
Simelane-Zulu says they're calling for Minister Bheki Cele to intervene.
