eThekwini turns to bargaining council to solve workers' strike
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
eThekwini says it will turn to the Central Bargaining Council to try and resolve the issue involving disgruntled municipal workers.
The municipality issued a statement on the matter earlier. This after workers brought parts of the CBD and several major routes into the city to a grinding halt for the second time this week.
Workers are unhappy with grading increases reportedly afforded to MK Vets.

eThekwini spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela says the City does not have jurisdiction on the matter.
"We are also appealing to all our workers to return to work because the strike they are participating in is illegal. Disciplinary action will follow. The principle of no work, no pay will also be invoked."
He says further disruptions will not be tolerated.
