Traffic now free-flowing following municipal strike: Durban Metro
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Traffic heading into and out of the city - is now free-flowing.

"Durban Metro Police is on the ground at the moment. Around the City Hall area - there is an outer cordon."
"The roads are not blocked off totally. There are no blockages of any trucks or municipal vehicles," Metro's Parbhoo Sewpersadh said.
Sewpersadh says officers are active at all areas that were previously barricaded - including the city centre.
Thousands of municipal workers have since gathered outside City Hall.

They're demanding higher salaries. This after some MK Vets were reportedly given pay increases. Unions want equal pay for equal work. Sewpersadh says the situation is improving.
"The municipal workers are now being addressed by the city manager. There is a free-flow of traffic in and out of the city."
