eThekwini still finalising funeral dates for Lakehaven fire victims
eThekwini Mayor James Nxumalo says they're waiting for post mortem results before confirming the date of the funeral for the eight people killed in last week's devastating fire at the Lakehaven Child and Youth Care Centre in Sea Cow Lake.
Nxumalo says two of the victims were from the Eastern Cape, while six others were from eThekwini.
The mayor's hopeful the process will be concluded early next week.
"We were informed officially through communicating with their families that it looks like the funerals of these eight children will take place next weekend" he said.
A memorial service is expected to take place at the Rivers Church in Durban on Saturday.
