eThekwini resumes residential recycling programme
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
The eThekwini Municipality has confirmed its Kerbside Orange Bag programme is operational again. The project enables residents to separate their paper and plastic waste for recycling, is up and running again.

Orange bags that are properly sorted are collected on the same day as an area's refuse collection - contributing to the municipality's drive to grow the recycling industry and improve its sustainability.
Durban Solid Waste says it's hopeful the challenges faced over the past few months will be a learning curve and help the project grow in a new direction.
Many residents who had been participating in the project became frustrated when their waste was not collected.
Residents either had to send their paper and plastic to landfills with normal household refuse - or take it themselves to local recycling depots.
