eThekwini postpones northern aqueduct shutdown
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The water supply interruption that had been planned for eThekwini's northern aqueduct has been put on hold.

Residents and businesses were warned last week that the pipeline would be shut down for 24 hours from Tuesday evening for the installation of new valves.
But the city's Gugu Sisilana says there's been a change of plans.

"This comes after extensive assessments were conducted by the city’s Water and Sanitation technical teams. The new date for the planned shutdown will be communicated.
"We urge the community to continue using water sparingly."
The aqueduct carries water from the Durban Height Water Treatment Works to the northern parts of the city.
