eThekwini 'not ready' to resume load shedding - DA
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The Democratic Alliance in eThekwini says the municipality isn't ready for load shedding.

The city confirmed on Monday that the power cuts will resume from August with a revised schedule.
This means that for now, eThekwini will experience load shedding only if it's being implemented from stage 4 onwards.
Durban's been exempt from the power cuts since the April floods.
The DA's Thabani Mthethwa says they have requested an update on the repairs done so far, to assess the condition of the city's electricity infrastructure.

He says they want to know if it'll be stable enough to support load shedding again.
"The fact that there are areas in eThekwini that experience electricity outages every day, sometimes it takes weeks for our technicians to resolve those faults, it does tell us that our networks and infrastructure is not ready to start load shedding.
"So we are requesting this report to be table before the executive committee so that we are able to ascertain and confirm that the network and infrastructure is ready."
