He says remarks from some organisations - describing the City as ugly because of its challenges aren't just unpatriotic. they harm Durban's reputation and economy.

"It's only here in South Africa where the opposition must be on television every day. They know that the infrastructure was damaged by the floods, we are fixing it and we are on course. But every day they say people must not come here they must go to Cape Town.

“What kind of people are they? I don't understand that. In your own city where there will be jobs, you are chasing investors from Umhlanga, you're standing there every day, you are saying to investors move away from Umhlanga."

Kaunda's been speaking at a two-day Anti-Crime and Social Cohesion Summit at the Durban Exhibition Centre. He says councillors who're found to be part of these groups will face disciplinary action.

"Those who are councillors in eThekwini who are doing it, they must come and ask, we will give them the number of tourists of whom they swung by their negative statements. They must come and answer in the Ethics Committee of this municipality.
