Municipality spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela says to protect the integrity of the programme, the recipients' names and ID numbers have been included on their lists.
"eThekwini is urging all involved in the programme to resist any temptation to do favours for their relatives and friends but rather treat all residents equally. Any officials and councillors that would be found to have acted unethically, they would be dealt with in accordance with the code of conduct applicable."
"We are appealing to all our citizens to ensure that they help us to guard this programme to ensure that it benefits the poor. In the event that they notice any signs of corruptions, we are urging all of them to please report to the municipality."
