eThekwini appeals to NPOs to revamp building for the homeless
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The eThekwini Municipality is calling on local non-profit organisations to assist the city in managing a building in Greyville - that will be used to house homeless women and children.

The complex will house some 140 people - who will also receive a meal.
Deputy Mayor, Fawzia Peer is driving the project.
She says homeless women and children are more vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse, than homeless men.
She's says they're teaming up with other stakeholders to help Durban's homeless.
"For the time being, we are concentrating on the women because they are badly abused in private shelters. The first step would be to take the women in and the second step is to get one of the dilapidated buildings - and partnerships with businesses to do it up. That would be for the men."
