Eskom temporarily suspends Stage 2 load shedding
Updated | By Newswatch
Eskom has suspended Tuesday's Stage 2 load shedding, but the utility says it will return later today.
The utility says the scheduled power cuts were halted from 4am thanks to an improvement in the power system.
It says, over the past 24 hours, its teams have returned seven generation units to service, after ten went offline on Sunday.

But this won't be enough to meet the demand for supply during the evening peak and the system remains vulnerable.
Eskom says this is why it needs to impose Stage 2 load shedding again from 5pm until 10pm tonight.
Looking ahead, the power producer says the outlook for the remainder of the week is expected to improve as its teams try to bring more generators back online.
