Eskom to reduce load shedding to stage 3

Eskom plans to reduce load shedding from the current stage 4 to stage 3.

However, the reduced blackouts will only come into effect from early Wednesday morning.
Eskom CEO André de Ruyter says from there they hope to maintain lowered levels into the weekend.
"The outlook. therefore for load shedding is that we will reduce load shedding to stage 3 from tomorrow morning at 5am.
"This will then be maintained until 5am on Friday morning and then we will maintain stage 2 until 5am Saturday, after which we intend to lift load shedding and we should then be able to return to normal operations."
De Ruyter made the remarks at a virtual press briefing on Tuesday afternoon.
He said hey understand that the load shedding has been a huge inconvenience to the country and has called on residents to play their role in saving power.
"For better or for worse, we are in this together, it requires a collective effort. It is very tempting and very understandable at this point in time to blame Eskom and only Eskom and we certainly will take our share of the accountability, but we are where we are and we now need a concerted effort not only to manage demand, but also in order to ensure that we can get adequate capacity onto the grid."
