Eskom 'on track' to end load shedding on Saturday

Eskom CEO André de Ruyter says the power utility is on track to end load shedding on Saturday morning.
De Ruyter gave an update on the status of the national power grid on Wednesday afternoon.
"We have been able to recover our emergency diesel reserves at Gourikwa, that is currently sitting at 100 percent.
"At Ankerlig, diesel levels are at 83 percent. So I think the team has done exceptionally well to secure enough supplies of diesel to restore the tank capacities there to very expectable levels."
He said they're expecting generation capacity to increase later from Wednesday.
"We are intending to return a Matimba as well as a Majuba unit later tonight and that will add about 18 megawatts of capacity. Hopefully, we will get that on the grid in time for peak which will further help us to persevere some of our much-needed reserves."
The utility is currently load shedding in stage 3.
