Eskom: High risk of loadshedding this evening

Eskom says there's a high possibility it will need to implement stage 2 load shedding again this evening.

The power producer says it needs to replenish water levels at its pump storage schemes - so it can supply electricity over the next few days.
Spokesperson Dikatso Mothae says they are currently using emergency resources to meet demand for the day.

"It's a bit difficult for us to give you a prognosis for the rest of the week and weekend. Because the system is quite vulnerable and unpredictable.
She says, "What we said previously is that, because we haven't done adequate maintenance over many years on the power systems, It means that we are likely to see load shedding for the next two years."
